Trip to Japan: Visiting Makino’s Production Facilities

The second week of April, Javier and Cristina had the opportunity to travel to Japan and visit the production sites of leading machine tool manufacturer MAKINO.

During their visit, they explored several facilities:

Katsuyama Plant & MSL Lab
At this site, they saw where Makino manufactures the machine beds and other major components, as well as where the final assembly takes place.
They also visited the Material Science Laboratory, where Makino rigorously tests its machines under extreme cutting conditions, using challenging materials to push performance limits.

Heiwa Sangyo Komagane Plant
They visited one of Makino’s major aerospace clients, known for producing large 4-meter structural parts and high-precision engine components.

Spindle Center & Head Assembly Room
Finally, they checked how the core of every Makino machine—milling heads—are built and assembled with incredible precision.
